TRAINS AND TRANSPORT SERVICES
From Saturday 8 new local public transport services by train and car will be in place to support GO!2025, at the initiative of the Region, in cooperation with the Municipalities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica and with the collaboration of the local public transport operators and Trieste Airport. The aim is to enable visitors of the opening ceremony and those who will arrive in Gorizia and Nova Gorica afterwards to move around in a sustainable way.
TRAINS
On Saturday 8 it will be possible to reach Gorizia on board the ETR 252 Arlecchino train, which represents one of the excellences of Italian culture and industrial production from the 1950s, masterfully restored by the FSI Foundation.
Three trips will be made, leaving respectively from:
- Venice, at 8.52 a.m. (passing through Treviso, Sacile, Pordenone and Udine),
- from Trieste at 12.45 p.m. (via Monfalcone)
- from Udine at 3 p.m.
The train from Venice will also run the return journey, while travellers coming from other cities will be able to use ordinary trains for the return journey.
For all weekends and public holidays, from Saturday 8 until the end of the year, new direct train connections between Venezia Mestre and Gorizia/ Nova Gorica will be operated by Trenitalia using the new Blues trimodal trains.
URBAN CROSS-BORDER SERVICE
The urban cross-border LPT service will connect Gorizia and Nova Gorica on a daily basis
Nova Gorica from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from Gorizia railway station from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., always every 30 minutes, with electrically powered buses.
EXTRA-URBAN CROSS-BORDER SERVICE
An extra-urban cross-border LPT service will directly connect Gorizia and Nova Gorica with the intermodal hub of Trieste Airport from Saturday 8 includes 22 daily connections.
